TINUBU ORDERS SECURITY FORCES TO END INSECURITY ‘WITHOUT DELAY’

President Bola Tinubu has issued a directive to Nigeria’s security agencies to decisively end the wave of violence and terrorism plaguing the country. In his Easter message, the President acknowledged the recent escalation in attacks and commiserated with victims and their families. He praised the military’s efforts but insisted the job must now be completed with urgency and precision.
“Our resolve to restore peace and security remains unshakable,” he said. He also touched on the country’s economic difficulties, pledging that reforms are beginning to yield results. He called for unity and urged citizens to draw hope from Easter, likening Nigeria’s struggles to the death and resurrection of Christ, with the promise that “our country shall triumph.”
Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has followed up with a nationwide order for increased surveillance, patrols, and security presence, particularly in places of worship, major highways, and public venues during the festive period. In Lagos, Police Commissioner Olohundare Jimoh has deployed additional personnel to strategic points to prevent crimes and ensure peaceful Easter celebrations.
