Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has firmly denied reports suggesting he is preparing to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The speculation had triggered heated debate across Osun political circles, with opponents claiming that Adeleke was plotting to switch allegiance ahead of future elections. But addressing the matter on Tuesday, the governor dismissed the claims as baseless and politically motivated, describing them as distractions from his administration’s work.
Adeleke reiterated his loyalty to the PDP, calling it his political home and the platform through which he intends to complete his mandate. He assured supporters that his focus remains on delivering infrastructure, education, and economic reforms rather than engaging in rumor-driven controversies.
The governor urged citizens to ignore the defection talk, stressing that his administration’s record of achievements would be expanded and consolidated under the PDP banner.
