Okpebholo Commission 56 New Buses, Security Vehicles.

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has procured and commissioned 56 Toyota Hiace buses out of the 100 expected before the end of February, marking a significant step in revamping the state’s transport sector.

In addition to the new buses, Okpebholo also commissioned 38 Toyota Hilux vans and 16 Prado Jeeps, which will be distributed to security agencies to enhance crime-fighting efforts.

The event, attended by top government officials, security chiefs, and former Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, highlighted Okpebholo’s strides in his first 100 days in office.

Oshiomhole, who unveiled the vehicles, praised Okpebholo for his achievements, stating, “What I couldn’t do as governor, you have done. Criminals are mobile, and our security agencies must be mobile too. These vehicles, equipped with advanced communication gadgets, will help our forces fight crime more effectively.”

The newly commissioned buses will be used to expand Edo Line Transport Services, improving transportation access for residents.

Governor Okpebholo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fulfilling campaign promises, stating, “Edo people deserve the best, and we are working hard to deliver real dividends of democracy.”
