Natasha Osawaru, the Deputy Majority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly, has addressed claims that the beads worn by her fiancé, singer 2Baba, are spiritually fortified.
The controversy began when 2Baba’s mother, Rose Idibia, alleged that Osawaru had placed the beads on him to exert a mystical influence. She pleaded with Osawaru to “release” her son, suggesting he was under a spell following his unexpected engagement to the lawmaker after his separation from his wife, Annie Idibia.
In an interview with journalist Stella Korkus, Osawaru dismissed the claims, explaining that the beads were gifts from her mother and grandfather. She noted that her grandfather, a knight of the Queen of England, had received one of the pearls from the late monarch herself.
“They are just traditional beads,” she stated. “He liked them and wore them. They are not diabolical and have no spiritual influence.”
Osawaru, who holds a Master’s degree in Film Production from Full Sail University, USA, also brushed off online speculations, stating that she is not active on social media and does not engage with such rumors.
