Governor Umo Eno’s substantial investment in youth development has received widespread commendation as the pioneer students of the Dakkada Skills Acquisition Center (DASAC) in Ikot Ada Edem, Ibiono Ibom LGA successfully complete their six-month training program.
Speaking to journalists, the Rector of DASAC, Professor Enoidem Usoroh, revealed that 234 out of 251 trainees graduated, having received extensive training in agriculture, hospitality/lifestyle management, metal/steel fabrication, wood technology, and ICT.
She expressed delight at the students’ impressive performance and announced that their projects would be showcased at an upcoming graduation ceremony.
Additionally, she confirmed that graduates would receive DASAC technical skills certificates accredited by the University of Lagos, alongside Trade Test 2 and 3 certifications.
The Chairman of DASAC’s Governing Council, Isantim Churchill Udoh, lauded Governor Eno for his vision, emphasizing that the trainees are not just skilled workers but future entrepreneurs and leaders, aligning with the ARISE Agenda.
Professor Sunday Abayomi Adebuosi, a lead consultant from the University of Lagos, praised the center’s practical-based training and its success in equipping young people with economic independence.
Some graduates expressed gratitude to Governor Eno for providing free accommodation, feeding, stipends, and a conducive learning environment.
It is recalled that Governor Eno had initially sponsored 200 trainees across all 31 LGAs, while 51 self-sponsored trainees paid over ₦250,000 each to participate in the program.
