The Rivers Mandate Group (RMG) has dismissed allegations made by former state Head of Service, George Nwaeke, against Governor Siminalayi Fubara, calling them a calculated attempt to discredit the governor. The group accused Nwaeke of reading from a scripted statement in a staged video designed to mislead the public and create political instability in the state.
In a widely circulated video, Nwaeke was seen holding a prepared script while a voice in the background instructed him to “read from the script I wrote” before prompting him with “action.” This, according to RMG, proves that his accusations were premeditated and politically motivated. The group described the entire situation as a failed attempt to frame Governor Fubara and manipulate public perception.
Pastor Godknows John, President of RMG, questioned why Nwaeke remained silent throughout his tenure as Head of Service, only to suddenly make allegations of political attacks after resigning. He argued that if Nwaeke had credible evidence, he should have reported it to security agencies rather than participating in what he described as a staged drama in an Abuja hotel room.
The group urged security agencies to investigate those behind what it called a smear campaign against Governor Fubara. It assured Rivers residents that attempts to destabilize the state through false allegations would not succeed and called on them to remain vigilant against political propaganda.
