FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has approved the employment of 34 Resident Doctors as part of a Residency Training Program aimed at strengthening healthcare services in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
This move, announced on Wednesday by Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Public Communications, is part of a broader plan to recruit 60 medical residents across eight medical specialties in FCTA hospitals.
The newly employed doctors include:
• 5 in Psychiatry
• 4 in Internal Medicine
• 1 in General Surgery
• 1 in Anesthesiology
• 8 in Family Medicine
• 6 in Ophthalmology
• 9 in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Olayinka further disclosed that recruitment for the remaining 26 doctors will commence soon.
