GANDUJE LEADS APC PUSH AS THREE LAWMAKERS DEFECT FROM NNPP AND PDP

The political landscape witnessed another strategic shift on Thursday as Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), personally attended a House of Representatives session to welcome two New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) members from Kano—Hon. Kabiru Usman (Rano/Bunkure/Kibiya) and Hon. Abdullahi Sani (Karaye/Rogo)—into the ruling party. Both legislators cited unresolved internal strife within the NNPP as their reason for switching allegiance.
In a related development, Hon. Oluwole Oke, a six-term legislator from Osun State representing Oriade/Obokun federal constituency, formally declared his defection to the APC. Oke had earlier tendered his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in a letter dated April 16, 2025. The letter, addressed to PDP leadership at both ward and national levels, noted that his departure followed extensive consultation with political allies and family. Oke, previously suspended by the Osun PDP for his perceived loyalty to President Tinubu, has now clarified his political destination.
