Troops under joint military operations have neutralized the notorious terrorist kingpin Kachalla Maidawa, along with 35 of his accomplices, during a precision security operation in the North-Central region. The raid took place in a dense forest camp believed to serve as a staging ground for insurgent attacks across multiple states.
Security forces reportedly acted on intelligence from local vigilante networks and intercepted communications. The operation began before dawn, with ground troops and aerial support coordinating to surround key hideouts. In the ensuing clash, Maidawa and many of his followers were overwhelmed, and significant arms caches were recovered. Authorities say the success dealt a severe blow to terror financing, recruitment, and command structure in the affected zone.
Recovered items include assault rifles, ammunition crates, improvised explosive device (IED) materials, and communication devices used for coordinating attacks. Officials declared that the clearance of Maidawa’s network will ease security pressures on neighboring states and provide breathing room for civil and developmental activity.
The Chief of Defence Staff commended the troops for their bravery and urged affected communities to renew support for security operations through information sharing. State governments in the region have pledged improved support for displaced residents and reinforcement of local security infrastructures in the aftermath of the operation.
