The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expressed concern over the growing disillusionment among Nigerian youths toward politics, blaming it on decades of broken promises and failed governance.
The party’s National Strategist, Mr. Adeniyi Adedoyin, said young Nigerians are increasingly detached from political participation because successive administrations have failed to deliver on employment, education, and social welfare.
Adedoyin urged the government to prioritise youth inclusion and transparency to rebuild confidence in the political process. He added that meaningful reforms, not rhetoric, are needed to convince young citizens that politics can be a tool for genuine progress.
He further called on political parties to restructure their internal systems to allow youth representation in leadership positions, arguing that the exclusion of young people endangers Nigeria’s democratic sustainability.
