Traders in Akwa Ibom State have donated ₦100 million to support Governor Umo Eno’s re-election campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections, praising his transparent and inclusive leadership style.
The announcement was made during a meeting of the Ibom Traders Association in Uyo, where members commended the Governor’s empowerment programmes that have boosted small and medium-scale enterprises.
The association elected a new Board of Trustees Chairman, Mr. Idoreyin Raphael, and Acting State President, Mr. Moses Sambo, as part of reforms to strengthen their collaboration with the state government.
Mr. Raphael described the ₦100 million support fund as a “token of appreciation for the Governor’s commitment to market men and women,” while Mr. Sambo promised grassroots mobilization to ensure traders benefit further from government programmes.
State Government representatives thanked the traders for their gesture and assured them of continuous pro-business policies designed to uplift the informal sector.
