Another Defection Hits PDP as Abia Lawmaker Joins Labour Party

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suffered another blow as Hon. Ugochukwu Collins, the lawmaker representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, has officially defected to the Labour Party (LP).

His defection, which comes just a week after Hon. Lucky Johnson of the Isuikwuato State Constituency also left the PDP for the Labour Party, was confirmed in a letter to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa, and read aloud during the plenary session on Wednesday, 2nd of April.

Hon. Ugochukwu cited the persistent crisis within the PDP as a key reason for his departure, echoing the concerns of previous defectors. His move signals a growing shift in Abia’s political landscape as the Labour Party continues to gain momentum.
