The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at Joseph Sarwuan University, Makurdi, has raised concerns over escalating insecurity on campus following the abduction of three students on Tuesday night.
ASUU Chairman, Comrade Paul Anyagh, issued a statement on Wednesday, 26th February highlighting the repeated cases of kidnappings targeting students and faculty members. He cited past incidents, including the abduction of a lecturer from the university’s staff quarters, as evidence of porous security.
Anyagh called for urgent improvements to campus security and demanded the immediate rescue of the abducted students. He stressed that ASUU stands in solidarity with students and parents, hoping for a swift resolution to the crisis.
