ASUU-UNN THREATENS LEGAL ACTION AGAINST JAMB OVER MASSIVE UTME FAILURES, CLAIMS ETHNIC BIAS

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Nigeria Nsukka branch, has threatened to sue JAMB over what it describes as a deliberate suppression of scores for South-East candidates in the 2025 UTME.
ASUU-UNN Chairman, Dr. Óyibo Eze, condemned the mass failures and said the region’s candidates were being targeted. “Our office has been inundated with protests from parents. This is a calculated attempt to frustrate our children,” he stated.
Eze alleged that high-performing schools like the University Secondary School, Nsukka, saw none of their candidates score above 200, despite their academic track records. He warned that ASUU would pursue legal action if the examination board does not review the results, warning that the growing unrest could spark national protests.
