Attorney-General charges Ministry Staff to uphold Justice, Integrity in Public Service

The Edo State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Oluwole Iyamu (SAN), has charged staff of the Ministry of Justice to uphold professionalism, integrity, and impartiality in the discharge of their duties, stressing that justice must remain the moral foundation of governance.

Addressing officials during a departmental meeting in Benin City, the Attorney-General reminded them of the vital role they play in safeguarding citizens’ rights and ensuring due process in governance. He encouraged the staff to strengthen coordination between departments to improve the administration of justice and efficiency in legal advisory services.

Iyamu emphasized that the Ministry must continue to be a symbol of fairness and moral strength, especially in an era where citizens are demanding accountability and transparency from public institutions. “Our work defines the integrity of the justice system in Edo State. Every action we take must promote equity, uphold the rule of law, and protect the common good,” he said.

He further urged legal officers to engage in continuous learning and embrace innovative approaches to case management and dispute resolution. The meeting also featured deliberations on strengthening collaboration with the judiciary, security agencies, and civil society to enhance access to justice for vulnerable citizens.
