BENUE GOVERNOR MOURNS LATE SENATOR JOSEPH AKAAGERGER
Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Senator and retired Lieutenant Colonel Joseph Iorshagher Akaagerger, who passed away on May 15, 2025, at the age of 69. In a condolence message, Alia praised Akaagerger’s legacy as a patriotic Nigerian who served with distinction as the Military Administrator of Katsina State and later as a Senator representing Benue North-East. The Governor highlighted his roles in politics, business, and philanthropy, describing him as a pillar of wisdom in the APC Elders Forum. He said the state would miss his counsel and urged all to find comfort in the legacy of selfless service the late Senator left behind. Governor Alia prayed for God’s consolation upon his family and eternal rest for the departed statesman.
