Catholic Bishops in Nigeria have praised Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, for his innovation and developmental strides, particularly the transformation of a 70-hectare erosion-ravaged land into the Arise Resort, a world-class tourism and recreation facility.
The commendation came during their courtesy visit to the Government House, Uyo, after their national conference in Ikot Ekpene. The Vatican Papal Nuncio to Nigeria, Archbishop Michael Francis Crotty, described the resort as “innovative and spectacular,” adding that it will strengthen tourism in the state.
Archbishop Lucius Ugorji, President of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), also praised the Governor’s people-focused governance, while other clerics applauded his humility, inclusiveness, and support for the Catholic Church.
In his response, Governor Eno said his administration would remain people-centric, anchored on compassion, peace, and inclusivity, while supporting both federal reforms and the Senate President.
