In a deeply emotional and revealing interview with VeryDarkMan, a woman identified as Dominica Chinwe, who claimed to be a close confidant of late singer Mohbad, shared troubling new accounts about the artist’s final year—including his mental health struggles, altercations with the NDLEA, and his fraught relationship with wife, Wunmi.
Dominica recalled being present at the infamous NDLEA raid that allegedly saw Mohbad physically assaulted and abducted. According to her, the singer tried to stop NDLEA officers from arresting Marlian Music artist Zinoleesky and ended up being brutalized with the butt of rifles and taken away while bleeding.
She further claimed Mohbad was later hospitalized and eventually taken to Aro Psychiatric Hospital for treatment. His mental health, she said, continued to deteriorate even after being discharged, with his family eventually hiring a private nurse.
Perhaps most shocking were allegations about Wunmi. Dominica accused her of using laughing gas, sharing family secrets with Naira Marley, and contacting him with claims that Mohbad’s family wanted to harm him. Dominica also claimed Wunmi later shifted blame to others and reported Bella Shmurda, Mohbad’s best friend, to Naira Marley.
She added that two viral videos—one where Mohbad declared, “If I die, it’s Naira Marley,” and another where he warned Wunmi’s family—were filmed long before his death and were being weaponized after his passing.
The revelations have added a fresh dimension to ongoing calls for justice and have intensified pressure on law enforcement to reopen and expedite a comprehensive investigation into Mohbad’s tragic demise.
