Edo Police to Train 160 Officers

In a bid to strengthen security and enhance law enforcement, the Edo State Police Command has trained 160 personnel in specialized operational techniques to tackle crime across the state.

Commissioner of Police, Betty Enekpen Otimenyin, disclosed this during the closing ceremony of the training program, emphasizing that the exercise was part of her commitment to rid the state of crime and improve police efficiency.

The personnel were trained in VIP escort, ambush and counter-ambush, musketry, combat craft, tactical retrogression movement, and search-and-rescue operations.

“In our mission to secure Edo State, we have retrained 160 officers in two batches to sharpen their operational skills and combat criminal activities effectively,” the commissioner stated.

She urged the officers to remain professional, avoid harassment and extortion, and respond swiftly to security threats. She also reassured residents of the police command’s readiness to provide effective and efficient service under her leadership.
