Emir begs Tinubu to consolidate peace in Birnin Gwari

The Emir of Birnin Gwari has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to deepen peace efforts in his domain, calling for infrastructure development and restoration of essential services after years of conflict and neglect.

In his address, the Emir urged that the Funtua–Birnin Gwari and Birnin Gwari–Minna federal roads be rehabilitated, that telecom and banking services be restored, and that the Jibril Mai Gwari I Memorial Hospital be upgraded to a federal medical centre. He emphasized that many facilities have remained derelict since 2021.

While acknowledging that Governor Uba Sani has initiated projects such as a cattle market and agricultural road links, the Emir said that the scale of the challenges exceeds state capacity, and appealed for federal intervention. He described Tinubu as a protector of Birnin Gwari in difficult times, calling on the President to now “stand with us in rebuilding.”

The plea arrives after reported reductions in violence following intensified security operations over the past year. Still, communities in the area remain fragile and in need of sustained infrastructure, social services, and economic uplift to prevent relapse into instability.
