Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested a 49‑year‑old father, Christian Iboi, in connection with the alleged murder of his 15‑year‑old son. The incident reportedly occurred on 5 December 2025 at Uhe Community in Igueben Local Government Area of the state.
According to police sources, Iboi is accused of assaulting the teenager with a stick after allegedly taking hard drugs, leading to fatal injuries. After the boy died, Iboi allegedly secretly buried the body within the family compound, raising alarm when relatives became suspicious and reported the matter to law enforcement.
Following the report, police exhumed the body for further forensic examination and have detained Iboi as part of an ongoing murder investigation. The suspect’s actions have shocked residents of the community, prompting calls for swift justice and careful handling of the case by authorities.
The Edo State Police Command has reiterated its commitment to ensuring public safety and urged anyone with additional information about the case to come forward to support the investigation.
