FG BEGINS TOLL COLLECTION

Toll collection has officially commenced on the Abuja-Keffi-Akwanga-Lafia-Makurdi highway as part of efforts to repay a $460.8 million loan from China Exim Bank used for its rehabilitation.

Speaking at the Garaku Toll Station in Nasarawa State, Minister of Works David Umahi, represented by Barrister Bello Muhammad Goronyo, noted that the toll revenue will also support the maintenance of other federal roads.

Toll rates are set as follows:

  • Saloon cars: ₦500
  • SUVs: ₦800
  • Minibuses: ₦1,000
  • Multi-axle vehicles: ₦1,600

Frequent users will receive a 50% discount, while motorcycles, tricycles, and vehicles for vulnerable populations are exempted.

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, represented by Deputy Governor Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, commended the initiative and urged Nigerians to support the project.
