Governor Umo Eno has donated ₦2 million to Miss Unwana Udobia, a doctoral student at Akwa Ibom State University, to facilitate the purchase of a knee and foot orthosis.
Miss Udobia, who hails from Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, has lived with polio in her right leg since childhood and had requested ₦1.5 million for medical assistance. However, Governor Eno approved ₦2 million to cover additional expenses.
The Governor’s Special Assistant on Humanitarian Services, Prince Nsikanabasi Umoekpo, presented the funds, while Ubong Ikpe, Personal Assistant on People Living with Disabilities, lauded the Governor’s compassion.
An emotional Miss Udobia expressed gratitude, revealing that she had previously written to leaders without receiving any response. She said she was overwhelmed by the kindness and did not expect a response so soon, praying for God’s blessings upon the Governor.
