Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has inaugurated the first commercial flight operation at the newly commissioned Gateway International Airport, signaling a major move to boost regional connectivity and economic growth.
At the launch ceremony, the governor cut the ribbon on a flight linking Ogun to Abuja and Lagos, with plans to open more domestic and international routes soon. Abiodun said the airport is part of his administration’s strategy to attract investment, decongest the Lagos airspace, and stimulate commerce in the state.
Aviation industry players and travel agencies attended, praising the modern facilities and strategic location. The state assured that safety, regulatory compliance, and partnerships with airlines would remain top priorities.
