As part of his administration’s commitment to agricultural transformation under the ARISE Agenda, Governor Umo Eno has appointed a State Agriculture and Food Security Committee to oversee policies and initiatives aimed at boosting food production and sustainability.
The committee is chaired by Prof. Okon Ansa and includes notable agricultural experts such as Prof. Trenched Ibia, Dr. Etimudo Udongo, Amb. Alphonsus Inyang, Prof. Elizabeth Ebukiba, and the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture. Mr. Ofonmbuk Nelson will serve as the committee’s secretary.
A statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, confirmed that the committee members have been invited to their inauguration ceremony, scheduled for Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 10:00 am in the Executive Council Chamber of the Governor’s Office, Uyo.
