Governor Umo Eno has inaugurated the 23.25km Ikot Ekaide-Ikot Ibritam Road in Oruk Anam Local Government Area, commending the administration of President Bola Tinubu for the timely release of funds that facilitated the completion of the project.
The road, which features two bridges spanning 20m and 80m, is expected to enhance connectivity and economic activities within the region.
“The truth is, these are economically viable roads, and this road connects to other states in the Niger Delta,” Governor Eno stated. “So there is no way we could leave this road uncompleted.”
The Governor emphasized his administration’s commitment to prudent financial management, revealing that despite numerous ongoing projects, the state has neither borrowed nor relied on bank loans.
He also directed the Ministry of Works to install streetlights along the newly commissioned road, while urging local government chairmen to ensure government projects in their areas are well maintained.
Local leaders and stakeholders, including Hon. Unyime Idem, Sir Udo Kierian Akpan, and HRM Obong Johnson Obosi, expressed their appreciation for the Governor’s commitment to infrastructural development in the state.
