Governor Umo Eno has expressed satisfaction with the construction progress at the ARISE Elderly Citizens Centre in Itak, Ikono LGA, while urging young professionals to demonstrate competence as a prerequisite for empowerment.
During an inspection of the facility, the Governor commended contractor U&K Limited and the Project Delivery Advisor, Dr. Itawan James, for the quality of execution. He reiterated his principle that “capacity should come before empowerment,” encouraging youths to take initiative and earn government trust through performance.
Dr. James disclosed that the centre will be fully operational by September 2025, with necessary legal and operational frameworks already being finalized. The facility, described as an architectural and functional masterpiece, is part of the state’s Medical Corridor plan situated between the Four Points by Sheraton and the State Specialist Hospital.
The Governor also visited the Ewet Luxury Estate project in Uyo, offering suggestions and expressing satisfaction with ongoing work.
