GOVERNOR YUSUF REINSTATES KANO CHIEF OF STAFF OFFICE, MAKES NEW APPOINTMENTS

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has reintroduced the Office of the Chief of Staff, months after abolishing it in December 2024. Dr. Suleiman Wali Sani, a veteran civil servant and medical practitioner, has been appointed to fill the role.
Dr. Sani previously served as Special Adviser on Civil Service Matters and brings over 40 years of experience in public administration, health policy, and reform. He is an alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University, Bayero University, and NIPSS.
In another appointment, retired Major General Mohammed Sani was named Director General of Special Services at the Government House. A decorated officer, Maj. Gen. Sani has served in peacekeeping, security strategy, and conflict mediation.
Governor Yusuf’s spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, described the appointments as strategic reforms aimed at improving governance, coordination, and inclusiveness.
“These are appointments of reformers,” he said, adding that the decision reflects the administration’s intent to strengthen public service delivery across the board.
