Kaduna State — The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State has expelled its deputy chairman and eight other party members following a disciplinary probe that found them guilty of alleged anti-party activities. Party officials said the expulsions are intended to restore internal discipline and avert factionalism ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
According to the state leadership, the expelled members were accused of actions that undermined internal processes, breached party codes and injured the party’s public image. Affected members have been notified of the decision and granted a window to appeal to the party’s appeals committee. ADC state executives said the move is part of a broader effort to tighten candidate screening and protect grassroots mobilisation.
Political analysts said purges like this are common in smaller parties seeking cohesion and electoral relevance, but warned that heavy-handed disciplinary measures can risk alienating supporters if due-process is perceived as lacking. The ADC leadership pledged to conduct fair internal hearings and reaffirmed its commitment to promoting party unity while preparing for local and national contests.
