Kogi PDP Condemns APC’S “No Vacancy” Boast, Labels it Undemocratic

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State has criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for declaring that there is “no vacancy” in Government House ahead of the 2027 elections, describing the statement as a threat to democracy.

In a statement released by its spokesperson, the Kogi PDP said that such utterances show the ruling party’s desperation to hold onto power at all costs rather than face the people at the ballot box.

The opposition accused the APC of intimidating the electorate through propaganda, claiming that the people of Kogi have endured “years of hardship, mismanagement, and neglect under the current administration.”

“The boast of ‘no vacancy’ is undemocratic and arrogant. It undermines the spirit of free and fair elections. In 2027, the people, not the APC, will determine who governs them,” the PDP said.

The party reaffirmed its commitment to mobilizing citizens and protecting their votes in the next general election, insisting that “no amount of intimidation will stop the will of the people from prevailing.”
