The Labour Party (LP) has extended an open invitation to the 36 Lagos lawmakers who supported the removal of Speaker Mudasiru Obasa, urging them to join its push to “rescue” the state from APC dominance.
LP’s National Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Arabambi, criticized Obasa’s reinstatement despite corruption allegations, calling Lagos a “captured territory” under APC’s grip. He also accused Governor Sanwo-Olu of remaining silent on the impeachment saga.
The party reaffirmed its support for Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour as its 2027 governorship candidate, dismissing criticisms from former PDP candidate Abdul-Azeez Adeniran. It urged Lagosians to rally behind LP to “restore true democracy” in the state.
