NASENI URGES SUPPORT FOR MADE-IN-NIGERIA PRODUCTS
The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has launched a campaign urging Nigerians to prioritize locally produced goods over imported ones. The agency’s Deputy Director of Engineering, Engr. Joseph Oladimeji, speaking at a strategic meeting in Ado Ekiti, emphasized that fostering a culture of patronizing made-in-Nigeria products is key to the country’s economic growth and technological advancement.
Oladimeji noted that Nigeria has the capacity to produce high-quality products, citing the country’s wealth of human resources, expertise, and raw materials. He called on citizens to shift away from the mindset of consumption and support the transition towards a more productive and export-driven economy.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to reducing dependency on imports, Oladimeji outlined NASENI’s role in promoting local technology development. He mentioned that the agency has established 12 centres across the country to train and empower Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in mass production of locally sourced goods. He also called for greater collaboration between the public and private sectors to make Nigeria a competitive force in global technology markets.
