The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in partnership with 17Asus Resource Limited, has launched a one‑month vocational training programme targeting fifty youths from Edo State.
The training focused on plumbing and water‑treatment skills is designed to equip participants with practical, industry‑relevant competencies, boosting their employability and opening pathways into technical trades, including work tied to Nigeria’s oil and gas sector and wider water‑infrastructure needs.
According to NCDMB, the initiative underscores its commitment to local content development and human‑capacity building: by investing in technical skills training, the board aims to reduce youth unemployment and underemployment, and strengthen the pool of skilled Nigerian workers for technical and infrastructural projects nationwide.
At completion, graduates are expected to be ready to take up jobs in plumbing, water treatment, maintenance and related sectors or even launch their own businesses thereby contributing to community development and supporting infrastructure resilience.
The training forms part of a broader series of capacity‑building interventions by NCDMB across multiple states, aiming to build a workforce capable of meeting the demands of Nigeria’s industrial and service sectors.
