Former Edo State Governor and Senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, has said that only those opposed to Goodluck Jonathan truly wish for him to recontest the presidency in 2027.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Oshiomhole said Nigeria had moved past the Jonathan era and that it would be unfair to drag the former president back into partisan politics after leaving office. He argued that Jonathan has contributed his quota to the nation and should now focus on statesmanship and continental diplomacy rather than electoral contests.
The senator added that those promoting Jonathan’s comeback were not acting in his best interest but were only using his name for political advantage. Oshiomhole urged Nigerians to look forward to new leaders and fresh ideas as the country approaches another election cycle.
