ORBIH SPEAKS ON EDO PDP CRISIS AT FACTIONAL CONGRESS

Chief Dan Orbih, the South-South National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has reiterated his commitment to resolving the party’s leadership crisis in Edo State.

Speaking during a factional PDP congress held in Benin, Orbih said the internal rift should not be allowed to derail the party’s chances in future elections. He accused some members of undermining unity within the state chapter, warning that continued division could hand political advantage to rival parties.

Orbih stressed that the PDP remains the only party with structures strong enough to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo, but added that peace and reconciliation were critical.

Party faithful who attended the congress pledged loyalty to Orbih’s leadership, while others from the opposing camp held parallel meetings. The development has further deepened the crisis ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial race.
