Ondo State Governor Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa has reported that the state’s recent investments in the education sector are already producing measurable results. He spoke during the inauguration of the new Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) Board held in Akure, noting improvements in infrastructure, teacher capacity, and learning environments.
Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted specific actions his administration has taken: recruitment of new teachers to fill staffing gaps, enhancements to school facilities, distribution of instruction materials, and strengthened monitoring mechanisms to ensure accountability in school performance. He mentioned that student welfare has also improved with support systems like scholarships and better learning tools.
Moreover, the Governor disclosed that his administration has allocated resources for free shuttle buses and boats to ease student access in hard-to-reach riverine areas. He also emphasised that the state has earmarked farmland and investment in agriculture as part of its educational strategy, ensuring students have practical exposure and opportunities.
