The Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has formally endorsed Hon. Sunday Udeh-Okoye as the party’s substantive National Secretary. This decision was announced on February 5, 2025, by BOT Chairman Senator Adolphus Wabara after an emergency meeting in Abuja.
The endorsement follows a report by Alhaji Tanimu Turaki (SAN), who was tasked by the BOT to analyze court rulings on the dispute between Udeh-Okoye and Senator Samuel Anyanwu over the position. The report affirmed the declaratory judgment of the High Court of Enugu, upheld by the Court of Appeal, in favour of Udeh-Okoye.
The BOT commended the PDP Governors’ Forum and the South East Zonal Executive for recognizing Udeh-Okoye and urged the National Working Committee (NWC) to swear him in immediately.
The BOT also praised the scheduling of the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting for March 13, 2025, describing it as a critical platform to shape the party’s future.
