President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Alhaji Abbas Sanusi, the Galadiman Kano and a senior kingmaker in the Kano Emirate.
Sanusi, aged 92, passed away after a prolonged illness. He was a revered figure in Kano’s traditional leadership and had served as a titleholder since 1959.
In a condolence message through his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described Sanusi as a pillar of the traditional institution, whose contributions to Kano and Nigeria would be fondly remembered.
The President extended his condolences to the government and people of Kano State, the Kano Emirate Council, and the Sanusi family, praying for Allah’s mercy upon the departed elder statesman.
