Rivers APC Chairman Calls for Fubara’s Resignation or Improvement

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Tony Okocha, has demanded that Governor Siminalayi Fubara step down or face impeachment.

Speaking at a press conference in Port Harcourt on Monday March 10th, Okocha dismissed Fubara’s invitation to the 27 lawmakers for a meeting, calling it a deceptive strategy. He accused the governor of undermining President Bola Tinubu and disregarding the rule of law.

“The invitation to the lawmakers is a Greek gift. The Supreme Court’s judgment is final. There is nothing anyone can do about it. The only option left for the governor is to resign or face impeachment,” Okocha stated.

Tensions in Rivers State have escalated following a prolonged political crisis between Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. The call for Fubara’s resignation signals a deeper rift in the state’s political landscape.
