The Southern Traditional Rulers Forum has appointed Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as the regional coordinator for the group, a move described as a step toward strengthening unity and collaboration among the southern states.
The appointment was announced during the forum’s quarterly meeting, which brought together traditional rulers from the South-West, South-East, and South-South regions. The monarchs said Governor Uzodimma was chosen for his leadership capacity, experience in intergovernmental relations, and commitment to regional cooperation.
The forum emphasised that Uzodimma’s role will focus on facilitating dialogue among states in the region, promoting economic integration, and defending shared cultural and political interests.
Governor Uzodimma, in his acceptance remarks, thanked the monarchs for their confidence in his leadership and pledged to advance regional peace, economic growth, and cultural preservation across southern Nigeria.
