TINUBU BACKS NEW ALAAFIN OF OYO, PROMISES PARTNERSHIP WITH TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS
President Bola Tinubu on Friday may 16th met with Oba Owoade, the newly installed Alaafin of Oyo, expressing admiration for the monarch’s ascent and vowing to collaborate closely with traditional rulers nationwide. Describing the ascension as divinely orchestrated, Tinubu drew parallels between his presidential journey and Oba Owoade’s royal succession.
He praised the Oyo Traditional Council for ensuring a smooth succession process after the death of Oba Lamidi Adeyemi in 2022 and commended the new monarch’s commitment to cultural preservation. Tinubu assured the Alaafin that his administration would prioritize inclusive governance, health, and education.
Oba Owoade, in response, pledged the council’s support for the President’s national development agenda.
