TINUBU GOVERNMENT INDUCTS NEW PERMANENT SECRETARIES

A three-day induction programme is underway in Abuja to prepare newly appointed Permanent Secretaries and the Accountant-General of the Federation for leadership roles in Nigeria’s civil service. The event, held at the National Counter Terrorism Centre, is a key step in boosting institutional efficiency under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, congratulated the inductees and reminded them of their strategic roles in driving public policy and reform. “Permanent Secretaries are the engine room of the government,” she said, urging them to uphold professionalism and ethical standards. She added that the success of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021–2025 rests heavily on their performance.
The sessions feature strategic simulations and high-level lectures led by former ministers and retired Permanent Secretaries, including Dr. Hadiza Bala Usman and Engr. Suleiman Adamu. The training also covers digital transformation, performance management, and policy ethics. Participants include high-ranking civil servants and Shamseldeen Babatunde Ogunjimi, the new Accountant-General of the Federation.
The programme is expected to culminate in concrete policy directions that will strengthen public service delivery across ministries and parastatals.
