Troops rescue 12 abducted Teenage Girls in Borno State

Troops from Operation Hadin Kai have successfully rescued 12 teenage girls who were abducted by terrorists in southern Borno State.

The girls, aged between 15 and 20, were kidnapped on November 23 while harvesting crops on their family farmlands in the Mussa District of Askira/Uba Local Government Area.

Security forces carried out a swift intelligence-led mission and freed the victims on Saturday, November 29. They have since been evacuated to a secure military facility where they are receiving medical attention, psychological support, and debriefing.

Authorities said the rescue brought much-needed relief to the community, which had been gripped by fear following the abduction. The military credited the success to prompt action by the troops and timely information from local informants.

The victims will be reunited with their families once post-rescue procedures are completed. Security forces have vowed to sustain pressure on terrorist elements in southern Borno to prevent further attacks and protect civilians.
