VP SHETTIMA TO GOV. ENO: “YOU WON’T REGRET JOINING APC” AT MASSIVE UYO RECEPTION

Vice President Kashim Shettima has reassured Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom that his decision to defect from the PDP to the APC is “wise and irreversible,” declaring that the ruling party will protect and welcome him. Representing President Tinubu at a grand rally in Uyo, Shettima stated that Tinubu’s legacy as a “bridge-builder” ensures no one joining APC would be alienated.
The rally, held at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, was attended by top APC leaders including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, and Governors Hope Uzodimma and Bassey Otu.
Governor Eno cited infrastructure development, including the long-awaited Deep Sea Port project, as a major reason for aligning with Tinubu’s reform-driven administration. Akpabio and Ganduje described the turnout as a “movement” rather than a mere defection, symbolizing the South-South’s full return to national alignment.
“This is not just politics — this is progress,” Akpabio said, adding that Tinubu’s administration will prioritize Akwa Ibom’s development agenda.
