Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has signed an agreement with MediaGuru Consultant LLC, Dubai, to transform the Akwa Ibom Broadcasting Corporation (AKBC) into a world-class multimedia station.
The signing ceremony, held at Government House, Uyo, was witnessed by senior state officials, including the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, who represented the Governor.
Governor Eno said the agreement fulfills one of his key campaign promises to modernize the state’s information and communication infrastructure. The contract covers consultancy, design, procurement, and installation of state-of-the-art broadcast equipment, positioning AKBC to compete with leading international broadcasters.
Director-General of AKBC, Mrs. Imaobong Udoh, praised Governor Eno for his visionary leadership, noting that the upgrade will significantly enhance content quality and restore public confidence in the station.
The ceremony was attended by top government officials including Attorney General Uko Udom, SAN, Information Commissioner Aniekan Umanah, and Head of Civil Service Elder Effiong Essien.
