Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has extended condolences to Nollywood actress Ini Edo on the passing of her father, Elder (Hon.) Edo Ekim.
Represented by Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, at the funera l in Awa Iman, Onna Local Government Area, the Governor described the late Ekim as a devout Christian and community leader who left a legacy of faith and service.
He acknowledged Ekim’s role in raising responsible children who have contributed to society, urging the family to uphold his values. “Take solace in the scripture which reminds us that the passing of a believer is the key that opens the vault of Heaven,” the Governor said.
The funeral service was attended by former Governor Udom Emmanuel and his wife, Martha, as well as dignitaries from the government, academia, and the entertainment industry.
General Overseer of Solid Rock Kingdom Church, Apostle John Okoriko, delivered a sermon emphasizing the importance of leaving a lasting legacy.
The late Elder Ekim, who was 86, once served as a councillor in the then Eket Local Government Area. He is survived by his wife, four children, and other family members.
