The World Health Organization (WHO) has strongly condemned a series of airstrikes in Sudan’s South Kordofan state that killed 114 people, among them 63 children.
According to WHO, the strikes which occurred on December 4, 2025 hit a kindergarten and the nearby Kalogi Rural Hospital. The hospital was reportedly struck at least three times.
Survivors were evacuated to a nearby facility, Abu Jebaiha Hospital, where medical teams urgently called for blood donations and additional supplies to treat the wounded.
The WHO’s Director‑General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus condemned the airstrikes as “senseless attacks on civilians and health facilities,” warning that targeting children, medical staff, and patients violates international humanitarian law. He renewed calls for an immediate ceasefire and full humanitarian access to affected zones.
The incident adds to a growing humanitarian disaster in Sudan, as fighting continues to ravage frontline regions raising urgent global concern over civilian protection, the targeting of medical infrastructure, and the plight of displaced populations
