TINUBU’S AIDE REFUTES CLAIMS OF CHRISTIAN GENOCIDE IN NIGERIA

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Tinubu, has dismissed allegations of Christian genocide in Nigeria as “malicious, contrived lies.”

His statement came in response to comments by U.S. Senator Ted Cruz accusing Nigerian officials of facilitating mass killings of Christians. Onanuga insisted that Nigeria is not embroiled in a religious war, but rather faces security challenges that affect all citizens irrespective of faith.

He emphasized that extremist groups do not discriminate by religion when targeting victims, and that state security operations are designed to protect every Nigerian. Onanuga challenged the narrative of religious persecution, calling the claims irresponsible and misleading.
