Troost-Ekong foundation expands Community Projects across Nigeria

Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong is expanding his humanitarian work through the Troost-Ekong Foundation, which continues to launch community-centered projects across Nigeria.

The foundation recently rolled out a series of youth football camps and educational programs in Akwa Ibom and Lagos, aimed at providing young Nigerians with sporting opportunities and academic support. Troost-Ekong, known for his leadership on and off the pitch, said the initiative was inspired by his desire to “give back to the communities that raised me.”

“We want to create spaces where young people can dream, learn, and grow,” he said during a media briefing. “Football changed my life, and I want the next generation to have the same chance.”

The programs include scholarships for underprivileged children, sports equipment donations to rural schools, and mentorship sessions led by professional athletes. The foundation is also working with local organizations to ensure the projects reach remote areas and remain sustainable.

Troost-Ekong’s efforts have earned him widespread praise among Nigerian fans, who view him as a model of athlete-driven social impact. The defender stated that his long-term vision is to build a network of community academies across Nigeria that nurture both talent and education.
