Adamawa swears in 32 new Magistrates, CJ charges them on impartiality

The Adamawa State Judiciary has sworn in 32 new magistrates as part of efforts to enhance access to justice and reduce case backlogs in the state.

At the swearing-in ceremony, the Chief Judge, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, urged the new magistrates to uphold fairness, integrity, and impartiality in their rulings.

She reminded them that the right to bail and fair hearing are constitutional guarantees, stressing that the Judiciary Service Commission would not hesitate to discipline any erring officer.

“Justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done. The integrity of our courts rests on your shoulders,” Abdulrahman said.

Speaking on behalf of the new magistrates, Magistrate Peter Joseph expressed gratitude to the Chief Judge and pledged to discharge their duties without fear or favour.
